Halloween!

October came and WENT! Gosh...

We had a great month of pumpkins and putting out the fall decorations! I love the slight weather change we are having and FOOTBALL. Fall is probably one of my favorite seasons.

This month we made a special trip to see the bats fly out of the old train tunnel. We went with some really good friends of ours, then met my grandma and brent's parents at the burger joint next to the tunnel. We all ate some really good burgers then headed to see the bats emerge. It was so cool (and smelly) there were THOUSANDS of bats. This may be something we do every year!

This year, for Halloween, Ezra wanted to be Willie Roberts from Duck Dynasty and Emersyn and Elynn both wanted to be mermaids! Check..easy peasy! Everly wore a little cat onesie with tights and we called it DONE!

We did our tradition of making our pumpkins into potato heads. The only thing about Texas and pumpkins is, it is still HOT in October so the pumpkins do not last long at all. This is one of the kids favorite things to do, and this year, they could do it pretty much by themselves! I love how independent they are all getting, but it is going way to fast!!

Elynn had her preschool fall parade. It is definitely one of my favorite things about her preschool. The kids come all dressed in their costumes, then parade around the upper church area, while the parents pass out candy as they come by. Cutest thing ever! Her fall party this year was super cute and easy to plan. Love when that happens.

Our church hosted Shelia Walsh for the fall womens dinner. A group of some of my favorite girls all got a table together and had a great girls night out.

Ezra and Emersyn's school had their first annual Pet Palooza fundraiser. It was a big hit. The kids came dressed in costumes, and so did the dogs! They had different booths with games, food and a bounce house. They even had a costume contest for the kids and the dogs. Ezra's costume won! It was a great afternoon.

We love our neighborhood, but we are loving it even more that more younger families are moving in!! Some of the younger families on the other side of the neighborhood (its split down the middle by a greenbelt) had a Halloween block party! We went to that and then went trick or treating as a group. I have always wanted to live in a neighborhood that does this! So thankful that ours is turning in one!

Tribute to Jager

So, this is a month late..

Our sweet Jager died at the beginning of October. It was such a sad day. We had our sweet Jager for 8 years. We got him when Brent and I first married. He was our 'first born'. Jager was the best dog you could have. He was small, and could go anywhere with us, but had the personality and heart of a big dog. He loved being outside and in the country, chasing animals and looking for things. He was so good with the kids and loved everyone. He was so laid back and easy. You wouldn't even know we had a pet.
Towards the end, he wasn't able to move his hind legs and started walking funny. He would run into things and get stuck under things. He was already a laid back dog, but at the end, he barely moved. We new something was wrong and took him to our vet, but his blood work came back looking normal. She gave us some steroids to try with him, to see if it would increase his appetite. Over the weekend he just got worse. We knew we were probably going to have to put him down the following Monday. I was praying for wisdom on how to do it: let the kids come with us, or do it while they were at school. Thankfully, I didn't have to make that decision. He slowly passed Sunday night and finally went early Monday morning. Brent and I were with him the whole time. We got to say goodbye and encourage him. Prayerfully, we will see him again in heaven! I told him to pick a house with a big backyard!

So Behind...Playing Catch Up!

I feel like its been a while since I've blogged. That's because it has been! Ha! i guess that's what happens when 'life' happens AND I have to actually sit down at my computer, upload the pics and write! I am sure there is an app for this now, but I don't know about it.

Anywho...here are some pictures of what we have been up to!

First off..we are have TWO kids in school and ONE in pre-school! Ezra is in 1st grade with Mrs Baker and Emersyn is in Kindergarten with Ms Campell!! They both are loving school and doing so well. Emersyn is growing up way to fast! Kindergarten just does that to you! She is already reading and is a pro in Hebrew! Ezra is getting to big too! He can read and write in Hebrew, his reading is taking off.. and he LOVES Math!

My brother, Shelby, Lincoln and Cambelle came to visit and meet Everly. We had such a great weekend!

Our 1st 'trip' as a family of 6. We went to Horseshoe Bay to our friends lakehouse. It was so nice to get away and just relax. The kids were so happy to be there! Lots of fishing, sun and water.

Elynn started Preschool! She is a Fantastic Frog in Mrs. April's class! Her best friend, Seyla, is in her class also. She LOVES going to school!!

Everly's first lil Aggie outfit!

Everly was dedicated by our sweet friends, mentors and Elders of our church, The Means! We are very thankful for Dennis and Cindy!

Everly at one month..She has lots of curls (when her hair is wet) and started smiling around 7 weeks!!

Ezra lost his 1st THREE teeth! He was SUPER Excited!
