What I haven't covered in May

This has been such a BUSY month for us, and we JUST started summer. Ezra has had swim team practice every night on top of last week of preschool events, getting Ezra prepared for Kinder, swim lessons, neighborhood bible study, lifegroup party, upcoming church bible study that I am going to lead this summer, etc..
I FEEL CRAZY! I am hoping some of it slows down, but it probably won't! So, I will just have to get better organized.
Anyway, here are some pics of what we have been up to.

Ezra had his last ever, last week of preschool. HE has LOVED OHC Preschool. He has shed some tears over the fact that he officially graduated from preschool. It has been the best experience for him and US! I am thankful that our family is not officially done with OH. Emersyn starts the 3 year old class in September. Ezra is going to go to Kindergarten next year. We have enrolled him at Infinity Christian Academy (ICA). He will go to class Tuesdays and Thursdays, with a teacher and other students, then I will homeschool him M/W/F. They have the curriculum all set up and organized for you when you are doing the home part. I am excited about it. I really am not ready to put him in any public school, but I know he needs more than just preschool again, so this is perfect for us. It is going to be a growing year for both of us!

My grandma came down to celebrate with us. Love her!

Got to see my sweet nephew again this weekend. They came down to Johnson City for the weekend. It was so nice to sit and enjoy my mom, sister, grandma with my 3 and baby Townes.

Memorial weekend was so nice this year. It was so laid back. We got to spend some great quality time as a family. Our neighborhood had a cookout on Sunday with hamburgers, hotdogs, drinks and swimming. (I love our neighborhood!). Monday we went to Rodgers Ranch gym, worked out and then went to the big swim party they were having with free food and drinks. It was fun, but so packed. We didn't stay too long. We decided to go home and just enjoy each other in our backyard with our plastic pool and some food. We have been having the best time together. I am so blessed with my family. I love them and love spending time with them!

She is getting SO BIG So Fast! Her little curls are starting to come out!

She is also a little FISH! LOVES THE WATER! She even jumps in by herself!
(not necessarily a good thing)

Swim Team

We decided to try our neighborhood swim team this summer with Ezra. We started practice on Monday, and have had practice EVERY NIGHT at 550 this week. I wasn't sure if Ezra would like going that often, or if he would even be able to do it. So far, both are great! He is doing such an awesome job and has improved in just 3 days! He also is excited to go every day! There are a lot of kids from the neighborhood, some that we know, so I think it helps that he gets to see them, say "hi" to them and be apart of the Blue Marlins like they are. I am so proud of him! Maybe we will actually compete and not just be apart of the team. Who knows! Right now he likes it and is having fun, and that is all that matters!

Mother's Day

We had a calm mother's day. We got to see my mom and her husband, brent's mom, dad, aunt, uncle (and their spouses) and grandma, my dad and his wife and my grandma a couple days earlier! Such a treat.

Here is a new family picture of us on Mother's day.

Meet Oliver

Oliver

I cannot believe we have a CAT! I am NOT a cat person, and have NEVER been a cat person. But, that all changes when your sweet little girl IS! Emersyn has always been obsessed with cats and kittens, which is weird because only ONE friend of ours has cats, and my grandma!! So, she hasn't even really been around them.

Well, I feel like in the past month we have been surrounded by others trying to give us a kitty. We have put our foot down in the past and just let Emersyn enjoy them, but not ever bring them home. They were all short haired kitties also, which grow up to be not so cute cats. (in my opinion!) Well, after Brent, Ezra and Emersyn's visit to Uncle Johnny's farm two weeks ago, Emersyn has asked to go back EVERY DAY to see the kitties! Ezra then started saying he would want a kitty. So, I started thinking about the different possible "pet" we could get that wouldn't be a cat! I thought, rabbit, then asked around and they eat everything and would be more work. I thought, maybe we could get another puppy...then quickly thought NO! So, maybe a mature rescue dog, then thought NO. And, Brent said NO to all the above :). It kind of just kept going back to a cat.

After talking to a few people, I learned cats really are an easy pet. We need a pet that could stay by themselves while we travel, that won't be high maintenance ( i mean, i already have 3 kids!), that won't cost us a lot, that gets along with Jager, and that my kids won't get tired of. Not that we "needed" another pet. So, like I said, it just kind of kept coming back to cats. Well, I thought I would start looking around for a long haired kitty and go from there. I didn't find any for a week or so, which was okay with me. Then, Sunday night, I thought I would look on craigslist. That's where I saw a picture of Oliver. I texted the lady and sure enough, she had 3 kitties, 2-short haired and 1-long haired. So, I set up a time for Monday to go see the kitties. First mistake! Second mistake was taking Emersyn with me!

So, that's how we ended up with Oliver. The kids are OVER THE MOON for him. He is a really sweet kitty. All the kids do is take turns holding him and he completely goes limp and lets them. He even let's Elynn pick him up and carry him around like a ragdoll. She is the funniest with him. She squeals everytime she sees him. She LOVES picking him up and carrying him. If he is on the ground and no one is holding him (which is RARE) she will scoop him up so fast and walk away with him. If you try to get him from her, she starts running so you can't! I should video it! Super Funny!

Anyway, I am just praying it was a good decision and not a horrible one. So far, so good. The kids are so happy and love him and that makes it all worth it!

Emersyn DAY

Last night, Sunday, we grilled out for Emersyn's birthday. We had Brent's parents come, and a couple friends of ours/emersyn's. It was such a nice and relaxing last minute decision. I didn't want to have a big party, so this was very nice. We had some cupcakes, got to sing happy birthday to her and have her open some presents. The kids just played in the backyard while the adults sat and talked.

Happy Birthday to EMERSYN

Elynn checking out emersyn's new shades!

Today, on her actual birthday, we went to get a doughnut at Starbucks and then headed to Sharkey's for kids to have her nails and toe-nails painted with her friend Amelia!! It was so FUN! She LOVED it. She is such a GIRLY GIRL and LOVES painting her nails. I really wanted to get her ears pierced, but Emersyn is a little picky when it comes to "feelings" of clothes, so I think we will wait until she is 3 1/2 or 4 so she can understand it a little better.

After nails, we went to Chick-fil A for lunch and ice cream before heading to meet Brent and Ezra at the movies. Brent took Ezra and Emersyn to go see the movie Chimpanzee.

Such a great day with our big 3 year old!

I am 3!
