Gig 'Em, Aggies!

We went to the first game of the Aggie season this year. It was a fun game, but super HOT! We were so thankful for the cloud coverage in the second half! The aggies beat the the rice owls..

This is Ezra's second Aggie game. His first game was when he was 2 months old. Now he is 6!!

Ready for our Aggies!

He wanted to stay to the VERY END! True Aggie!

Exhausted after the game.

Kinder

Last year, we did a Kinder homeschool with Ezra. We loved it, and he did great. But this year, a new charter school opened up a mile from our house. It is out the Jewish Community Center and used to be a private Jewish School. The private school was known for being a really great school. When we found out it was going to turn into a charter school, we looked into. We knew it was going to be a great school, very much like the private school. The Jewish religion is no longer apart of the school, and it's free since its a charter. Another great perk about it is, they are going to be learning Hebrew. Not sure how much we will 'use' Hebrew, but Ezra will be learning a language that reads from right to left..so he will be using both sides of his brain! Can't beat that. There are also a few of our neighbor friends that are going, so that makes it so much fun. We decided to do Kinder again because he is young for his age. And, this is the first time he has ever been in a program all day, every day. He is such a home body so we knew it would be an adjustment. Learning a language on top of it makes it a little harder too. We would rather him be the oldest in the class vs the youngest. We are so glad we made this decision. He doesn't mind one bit and has been so good for him.

He rides to school with our neighbor, Ianthe, a little 8 year old (2nd grader). They are great friends and so sweet to each other. Ianthe is an only child, so she loves that our crew. It helps Ezra get out of bed, excited to go to school every day. He has LOVED this school. He LOVES learning Hebrew. That is probably what he talks about the most. Praying for a really good year for him. That he can shine his light so bright for Jesus!

Kinder 2013: I want to be an A&M football player! Whoop!

A Summary of August

We have had a GREAT summer! It was busy, fun and included LOTS of SWIMMING!!

I turned 32, Ezra started Kindergarten, we went to the Gillespie County Fair, we spent time with family, Ezra had his eyes checked and Emersyn had her ears checked, went to see the Dinosaur exhibit at the Wittie, and Ezra started a Rock Wall Climbing class. Good times..

At his 6 year old well visit, they recommended we go get his eyes checked because his left eye was was at 20/40. So, we went to see our good friend, Dr. Pittard, who dilated his eyes and examined them. His eyes checked out PERFECT! No problems!

At Emersyn's 4 year old well visit, we had to have her hearing checked for preschool. She ended up failing her test (she had recently gotten over an ear infection), so we had to go back and have them retested at Ezra's 6 year old well visit. She failed again! So, we  were referred to an ENT. We went to go see Dr. Brown. He was awesome!! He did a little screen at first and then decided to have her do a hearing test. She passed, but her Right ear is in the normal range but hears flat. She probably has some scarring on her ear from ear infections when she was little. So, good news is that both ears checked out in the normal range, with the right ear just hearing more flat. We have to go back in 6 months to make sure it is stable and not progressively getting worse. We will then go from there. Praying for complete healing! She CRACKED ME UP during this test, that I thought I was going to have to leave the room. Love her!

Birthday weekend

Ezra on his first day of Kinder.. wants to be a football player!

Ezra and dad and Ezra with Mrs. Campbell

Rock Wall Climbing at our gym. This has been so great! He is afraid of heights and this has really helped him overcome some fears and be more confident. I have loved seeing him grow through this!! He LOVES it!!

Gillespie County Fair. It was so fun. We took the kids to the fair on Friday and had a blast riding rides, playing games and eating fair food. On Saturday, Brent and I went back with no kids. We had a great time dancing!

Ready to go dancing.

After a summer full of sun and swimming, Emersyn's hair was in need of a cut. We cut about an inch or so off, but it was the 1st time we had ever cut her hair. She needed it!! She did a great job! Emersyn also learned to swim all by herself this summer! She is so good too. She used to be sooooo scared of the water, not getting in, except by the steps. You used to have to hold her the whole time and she would scream if you tried to let go of her in any way. I never thought she would swim, now she is a little fish!!

This girl..LOVE HER! She makes me laugh and smile. She is FULL of character and personality. After a summer of swimming all summer, and the fact that she is FEARLESS, she is swimming by her self at 2 1/2!
She loves every minute of it. She wakes up, almost every morning, asking "go swimming today!?"

Turning 32

I turned 32 in August. It is funny when you get older and have a family, birthdays aren't that big of a deal or NEED to be celebrated. I was blessed that this birthday, I got to spend it with my whole family! I love them so much. We rarely get to see each other because we are spread out and have busy lives with our own families.
This year, we all got together in Johnson City/Fredericksburg for the weekend. I happened to be my birthday weekend. It was such a GREAT weekend!! We went to this new RV park in between Fred and Stonewall.. called Jelly Stone Park. There are several of these parks all over, so we are fortunate to have one so close. The park has tent campsites, cabins and RV spots. They have scheduled activites for the kids and family, they have a great pool, playground and a huge bouncy pillow thing called a Kangaroo Jumper. We rented out 2 tent sites and just hung out all day long. We swam, jumped, played, ate and did it all over again. Before we left, Boo Boo bear came out to tell a campfire story before we roasted marshmallows for s'mores. I am thinking this may become a yearly gathering.

Shelby and Malachi were able to come up early to San Antonio (malachi had some meetings), so Shelby and I had a great day with the kids. We went to the National Bridge Wildlife Ranch. The kids LOVED it..

Ezra went to his 1st camp this summer, at the end of July. It is a christian camp in New Braunsfels. It is AWESOME!! He loved it (well, after the first 2 days..he is such a home body and loves being home with us). He was able to go with some good friends. He learned alot about being a mighty man for GOD! I can't wait for him to go back next summer.. (missing a pic of camo day..need to find that)

Hudson and Ezra ready for their first day of camp!
