Tiled Shower!

An update on the bathroom project! The shower is full of nicely laid tile! Brent put up all the tile, now it is drying and ready for grout! He is going to try and put on the grout this weekend and do the finishing touches!! It looks really good! He did a great job. The only bad part is, even if he finishes the grout this weekend, it takes up to 10 DAYS before you can use it! But, I see the light at the end of the tunnel!
Here are some pics of the tile.

Ahh.. i have a 2 1/2 and 8 month old

kisses even with tears

Sometimes I look at my life and think.. "really? I have a 2 1/2 and 8 month old?" It just goes by so fast. It seems like just the other day, Ezra was the same age as Emersyn and I was capturing all of his "firsts". Now, it seems like I struggle just to take a picture of each new month Emersyn enters in, let alone put it in her baby book! I am really trying to be better at this. So, here is an update of my two babies!

Sweet boy!

Ezra is 2 and 1/2! He is so smart. He is such a sponge with things he is learing and hearing. He talks so much and says the funniest things. Lately his new phrase is "Sure do!" HA! It cracks me up. The other day he was asking about a new necklace I got for christmas that has the letter E on it. I told him it was to keep him, Emersyn and dad (eilers) close to my heart where ever I go. And he responded with "like Jesus in your heart?" I said "Yes, just like Jesus in your heart. Do you have Jesus in your heart Ezra?" and he looks at me and says "Sure do!" and went about playing. SO SWEET! He is learing more and more each day about Jesus and the Bible and loves to sing "Pat, Pat, Pat your Bible..", a song he learned at bibleclass. He is just growing up soo fast.
OH~ and he is POTTY TRAINED! He started throwing fits when we would put diapers on him, so I decided it was time to potty train. We started at the beginning of Novemember (he was less than 2 and 1/2!) and it took about a week and a half to where he was 100% potty trained with no accidents, even when we went on errands. He even wakes up every morning dry and saying "mommy, need to go potty". I am so proud of him.
He is concerned more and more about his little sister "emmy", but not liking the fact that she now likes to play with his toys. So, we are learning a whole new concept of how to share "his" toys with his sister. Other than sharing, he is so sweet to her.

oh so cute in my hat!

I'm ready mom! Watch out Ezra!!

Emersyn is just about 8 and 1/2 months and will be crawling any day now. She can get up on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth. She is able to go from hands and knees to sitting. However, she has tried to do one knee and hand and then fell on her face. I am so sure she will be crawling soon.
She is the happiest baby! Always talking and smiling. She loves her brother and wants to be wherever he is. She even stops nursing if he is around and playing. When he sings songs, she is right there with him clapping and patting! She says "mamma" and "pat pat", but not "dada" quite yet. She is starting to wave "hi and bye" and loves to throw her hands in the air. She is eating more and more table food everyday. Just getting so big, so fast.

It makes me want to have another already. For now, I am excited to just enjoy them and watch them develope into Godly boys and girls!

Bathroom Project Continued!

First laid tile

So.. we have been on a stand still with our retiling of the bathroom, waiting for the new shower pan to arrive. It finally came in this past weekend and Brent went to work putting it in. After the shower pan was put in, we (haha..like I help ;) had to put the cement water backing boards back up and seal it. I can offically post that we have begun the tiling stage of the project and am now seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. The tunnel wasn't really that long, it has only been a couple weeks, and most was waiting for the shower pan to come in. However, my room is soo DUSTY! We also have been having to use the guest shower, which I am very thankful we have one! But God has truly blessed Brent with such great skills. He is soo handy and can do just about anything he puts his mind to. He amazes me all the time. Here are some new pictures. Hopefully I will have a finished bathroom picture to post before too long!

Hats

So, I ordered Ezra and Emersyn some homeade knit hats off of Etsy. Ezra's came in the other day and he likes to wear it! Which is good because in this cold weather I am always trying to cover up their ears. Emersyn doesn't have any hats so I am excited for Emersyn's to come in too. Here are some pics of Ezra wearing his hat.

And an update on the remodeling of the bathroom will be coming soon. We were on a stand still for about a week waiting for our new shower pan to come in. Well, it finally came in this weekend and Brent just put it in and is putting up the cement boards. I will take a picture tonight and post the "progress" later!

Bathroom Project!

So, last weekend I got a wild hair and painted our downstairs bathroom this great color that my great friend Allison has in her 1/2 bath. I love the color! After it was painted, Brent and I headed to Hobby Lobby to get some decorations for the bathroom. It looks soo good and makes the house feel so different. I have no idea why it took me only 4 YEARS to paint it! HA!
So, with the downstairs bathroom painted and looking good, I got the idea to paint the master bathroom upstairs. Yes, 4 years, and nothing on the walls! I am not good with bathroom decorating 101. Yesterday we started painting the bathroom at 2 in the afternoon. Brent was helping tape and take down things while I was getting ready to paint. In the middle of painting, Brent gets this great idea to tile the shower! While I am still painting, Brent rips out our old shower walls and begins the project!! So as of now, we have no shower. The bathroom is painted and looks Great! Now, we will have to see how long it takes for him to tile. This is his first time and apparently it's not as easy at it may seem. That's what I've heard. But, Brent is really talented and is such a handy man! I love him. Here are some pics of the project. I will keep you posted on how it goes. If anyone wants to come over and help tile, we would love it!! We will even cook you dinner!

Tearing down the walls

Hopefully our shower won't look like this for a while

Coming up for Air! (after the holidays)

We have been busy! But we had such a good christmas holiday being able to share it with both Brent and I's families! We started out christmas eve going church at 5, then headed over to my dad's house in Boerne for dinner with him and his wife, Joann. It was a nice, good time. Then christmas morning, we were able to spend christmas with just US! It was so nice to wake up and have all the presents from santa under the tree and seeing ezra's face light up. He didn't fully grasp what was going on but sure was happy about all of his new things under the tree. He even wanted to help little Emersyn open all of her gifts. He really took to the roll of handing out the presents, that at times, we had to remind him to stop and open his.

Then he just did it for her :)

1st christmas!

After we were done with our family christmas, we packed up the car and headed to Fredericksburg. We arrived to a house full of Eilers! It was so fun to be with the whole family. That afternoon we walked over to the Cabin and had a dinner with the extended Eilers family. The food was Delicious! Then we walked back over to brent's parents and celebrated christmas with them. It was such a special time. The kids got all dressed up to celebrate the Nativity (for about 5 minutes, then they were finished). The kids exchanged gifts from cousins (pj's and books) and we sang christmas carols, laughed and talked. The next morning, everyone got up, we celebrated Mass with Fr. Brian, even though he just had surgery on his ankle.

Ezra was joseph and Emersyn was baby Jesus

Then everybody headed seperate directions. We packed up, got in the car again and headed to Dallas to spend christmas with my family. This is one of the first years that everyone was together, My mom, her husband (for the first time), Malachi/Shelby, Ashley/Hunter, Brent and I and my grandmother. For a few hours, my grandmother's brother and his family came to spend some time with us. It was a great time. Lots of laughs and good memories. Ezra had his fun playing in the left over snow that Dallas got on christmas day. He loved making snowballs and throwing them at everyone.

We finally headed home monday and got home just in time to watch the Aggie bowl game. We had a relaxing week and celebrated Brent and I's 4th anniversary and brought in the New Year with some of our closest friends. God has truly blessed us this year. We look forward to the things to come in this New Year of 2010, and pray that God is at the center of all we do!
