Valentine's Day

Valentine's day was pretty low key during the day, until we went to the rodeo that evening. I liked it that way. Ezra's class had a breakfast party and made valentine's cards for children in an orphanage in Africa! Super sweet idea!
The kids got a little something from Brent and I made heart shaped waffles! Sweet, yet simple! Just the way I like it!

Baby Townes

The first weekend of February, the kids, my grandma and I went to Dallas for my sister's baby shower. She is having a little boy, Townes Hunter Parrish, due March 21st! It was fun to celebrate her and the new chapter of their life they are entering.

Ashley and Hunter are going to be great and are super excited! I am super excited for them. It is so different when your own sister is having a baby vs. your friends. You are super excited when your friends are having a baby, but when your younger sister is, it is different. I, at times, feel more of like a "mom" when it comes to her. I guess because I am older and just protective of her. I have loved walking this experience with her and know I will cherish the next step as she becomes a mother. I am so excited for her to experience it for herself. You can never truly "know" what something is really like until you walk it yourself. It is a beautiful and hard journey all in one, but one of the BEST things I have ever done or experienced!

Praying for continued health for her and the baby in this last month of pregnancy!

So, I have to explain the picture below. Elynn had a really hard time going to sleep while we were in Dallas. I am not sure if it's because we have only slept over somewhere like 2-3 times since she has been born and doesn't like pack-n-plays or if she thought she was going to miss out on the fun if she went to sleep. So, my grandmother was a rockstar! She would take Elynn in my brother and sil's room and get her to sleep. This was around 1030 or 11 PM! Ha! But, I walked in to check on them at one point and this is what I found. Such a sweet picture!

Let's Rodeo, San Antonio!

Yesterday, on Valentine's Day, we decided (a little while back) to have a family date night and go to the Rodeo. It was family night at the Rodeo, and Tenth Avenue North was playing. We had such a great time!

My grandma came down from Fredericksburg and spent the night so that we could leave little Elynn behind. So, we loaded up Ezra (after Ezra had to put on his chaps, boots, cowboy shirt and cowboy hat) and Emersyn (in her "cowgirl" dress) and headed to the Rodeo. We didn't go to the outside events of the Rodeo because we are saving that for another day to do with the whole family. We got there in time, however, to watch the whole inside event of the Rodeo. We watched, bucking horses, bucking bulls, barrel racing, muttin' bustin', calf scramble, team roping, etc., etc. The kids loved it! They sat the whole time and watched. When Ezra would ask a question, he wouldn't even take his eyes off the event, he would ask it with the corner of his eyes and mouth. Ha! It was so cute, so fun and a great Valentines!

We stayed at the rodeo until a little after 10! The kids were just being so good and enjoying themselves! They even loved the concert. What a great performance by Tenth Avenue North! Loved every minute of my Valentine's with all my Valentine's, sans Elynn.

We even saw our friends the Marshalls at the Rodeo! The seats next to us were empty so they came and sat with us! Have I said how great of a night it was yet!? ha!

Getting ready to leave. Everyone was excited, even though it may not show on this picture!

How sweet is my little cowboy??

Trying to get a picture of the two of them with Emersyn smiling.. Best I got! Ha!

Got a picture of how he asked his questions during the show!

Emersyn, over here!

Big Happenings around here

We have had some big happenings going on around the Eilers household!

First up: Emersyn is 100% potty trained! She has been potty trained throughout the day for a while now, but had still been wearing her princess pull-ups at night. For the past week (or more) she had been waking up with dry pull-ups and, sometimes, even getting up in the middle of the night to go potty. I just didn't really want to take the plunge and let her wear panties at night. Well, after several days of doing this, and being very excited that she had a dry pull-up on, I figured it was time to let her sleep in her big girl panties. She has been very successful! She wakes up in the middle of the night to go potty and has woken up dry every morning, so far! I am so proud of her! 2 down, 1 to go! Ha! When we are out of diapers for good, it is going to be a weird, but good feeling!

So, our next big happening is: Ezra can ride his bike with NO TRAINING WHEELS! He is doing awesome! He can even start and stop by himself. As excited as I am for him, I am also kind of sad about this. He is growing up way to fast and just becoming more independent all the time. Oh how that tugs at my little heart. He did such a great job learning how to do this. A friend of mine told me not too long ago, that if he was able to ride his scooter and balance, he was ready to ride a bike. After she told me that, I thought to myself, "Ezra can do that, I'm pretty sure." So, I passed on the information to Ezra and for the next couple days, he practiced on his scooter and really built up his confidence. After a few days of this, I asked if he was ready to try out the bike. He said "yes" and was so excited. I think the key was his mind set. So, when Brent got home, we took him to the back yard, took his wheels off and started him out in our grass. Our backyard is big and has a little part that goes "down hill", so we just practiced this a couple times. He caught on so fast and was doing great, so we took him to the cul-de-sac and the end of our street, and he took off. I was so shocked! He hasn't looked back and is super excited that he can do it!

Such a proud mamma!

Here is a video of Ezra riding his bike!

Elynn's Birthday Party

We had a small birthday party for Elynn on Saturday, which was her actual birthday day! It was such a great party. We had my mom and her husband, my sister and her husband, my grandma, Brent's mom and dad, Brent's sister, Michelle and her kids, Brent's uncle Johnny and aunt Mary, my friend, Lisa and her girls and my neighbor from across the street. It was so nice to not have as many people, mainly kids, there because we were able to really focus on Elynn and not on all the kids running around.
Elynn didn't know what to think. Every time she woke up, from morning to naps, someone new was at our house. She would just furrow her brows and look at them, like, "i know you but I am not sure why you are here."
She loved her ballons and LOVED her cupcake. She was trying to grab that cupcake out of my hand while we were still singing to her. I was afraid she was going to grab the burning candle. Once she got a hold of that cupcake, she secured it on her chest with one hand and used the other hand to shovel it in her mouth. She ate the WHOLE THING! I was shocked! I just knew she was going to have a stomach ache because she hadn't had sweets before that! She loved it!
It was a nice, simple party. I felt like I got to participate and enjoy the whole party instead of running around like a mad woman. It was great!
I decorated her door with streamers and balloons for when she woke up! (pinterest)

I LOVE this picture. She is almost always sitting in her bed like this when I go in and get her. She will look at you and smile, then turn back around. Such a sweet head.

Elynn 3 weeks

Elynn is ONE

Saturday my sweet Elynn turned ONE! I can't believe it. I want to say this has been such a FAST year! I mean, I am pretty sure I just brought her home from the hospital! But, sadly, that is not the truth. She is ONE and loving it!
This sweet, sweet girl is PURE JOY! She is ALWAYS happy, smiling, clapping, dancing and just loving on you! She loves to do and be wherever her brother and sister are. She has recently discovered that we have a pretty awesome backyard and LOVES to go outside! She will go to the back door, which is glass, and press her face to the window and start banging on it! It is way to cute. Ezra and Emersyn love when she is outside too. The weather has been perfect so we having been living in our backyard. She loves to swing, walk with her push toys, ride in her little tykes car, go down the slide of the playhouse and watch Ezra and Emersyn run and play.
Some other things she is doing now:
-she stands by herself all the time. When she does this she claps for herself and gets really excited.
-she has taken some steps, but then gets really excited and starts clapping for herself (again) and falls down
-she can say, "mama", "dada", "uh-oh", "ma" (for more), "dat do"(thank you), "nana"(banana)
-she has two bottom teeth and is FINALLY getting her top two teeth (which is a good thing it took a while because I am still nursing!)
-she blows kisses
-she waves
-she loves to dance
-she plays peek-a-boo while covering her little eyes with her hands. CUTEST thing, she will peek at you from between her fingers to make sure you are still playing. OH SO CUTE. She gets the biggest smile!
-she also plays "where's Elynn?" she will cover her face with whatever she has in her hand and you say, "where is Elynn?"
-she is my snuggle bug! She loves to snuggle and be held. And I hold her A LOT! I just can't get enough. She will hold her arms out to me and smile, and I just have to pick her up. She will immediately put her head on my shoulder. Makes me melt every time!

Took Elynn to the doctor today for her well visit. It was a good thing because Elynn was at the start of a sinus infection and her ear looked a little red like it was about to be infected. So, we were able to start her on meds before it got ugly!
Anyway, she weighed in at 19.8 pounds (25th %) and was 29 inches tall (50th %). I was shocked that she wasn't 20 pounds and that she is in the 25th percentile for weight. Who knew!

We are so very blessed with this healthy, joyful, smiley girl. She is a blessing to our family. I could not imagine our family without her. I thank God everyday for the three little, but big, blessings in my life! I am so thankful HE called me to be their mommy!
