Catching Up

I haven't seemed to have a moment where I can just sit and blog lately so I am a little behind.
This is my attempt to try and catch up.

I feel like September has been so full of events throughout the week and the weekends.

On Labor Day, we loaded up the car and followed our good friends the Garrisons to their family lake house in Marble Falls off of Horseshoe Bay. We left friday afternoon and arrived in Marble Falls. We unloaded the car and went into town to get some pizza. That evening we planned for a pretty uneventful night with movie watching and heading to bed early. HOWEVER, the kids decided to have a "party" and stayed up to till midnight. They were having so much fun with each other. The Garrisons have two twin girls, Hailey and Sydney that will be 3 in december. They have so much fun together. Saturday morning we woke up, ate breakfast and took the kiddos for a walk around the Marriot resort, that is close to the lake house, while the boys fished. We had a relaxing day and went to bed a little earlier that night. Sunday I woke up and went for my 4 mile run (training for a 1/2 marathon), we got ready and loaded up the cars to head to the Exotic Zoo. We had so much fun there. They had everything from deer, to buffalo, to goats, to camels and zebras. The kids LOVED it! On the way home from the zoo, I started to not feel good. I got the STOMACH BUG! I was throwing up all afternoon and ended up in bed for the rest of the night. Emersyn got it a little bit too. I woke up Monday feeling better and went into the main house to learn that Lisa now how the Stomach Bug. She had been sick early Monday morning. On the way home from the lake, Ezra started throwing up! Then wednesday, Brent started throwing up! It was not a fun week!
The following weekend, Brent and Ezra went to the Farm to get the feeders ready for Hunting Season while Emersyn and I headed to Austin for my friends wedding!

That following Tuesday we got such sad news. We lost Grandma Eilers to the Lord. She lived such a great life and impacted all of our lives with her joy and love for the Lord. She would have turned 94 in October. She made it home just in time to celebrate Grandpa Eilers 100th birthday. He passed away 40 years earlier. On Thursday we celebrated her life with a Rosary and Mass conducted by Fr. Brian. Saturday we headed to Hallettesville for her funeral. It was such a nice funeral. That afternoon was so neat because we got to go to Grandma and Grandpa Eilers old hosue and dairy farm that Grandpa Eilers built and ran. It was a blessing for the siblings to be able to see the house they lived in and the old dairy. Grandma was smiling down on us! We will miss her but are so very thankful for God's promise that we will be together again one day! What a Glorious day that will be!!

Our final weekend in September we will head to Lake Livingston to the Dach's lakehouse (brent's sisters in-laws) for a weekend with the Eilers. We are looking forward to all being together. Such a blessing that family is to us!

FBG fair parade and Butterflies

At the parade

Being attacked by butterflies

This past friday was the Fredericksburg Gillespie county fair! It is a main event in fredericksburg and brings back lots of memories. (like, when I was a cheerleader cheering on the floats thinking I was pretty cool!) So, we loaded up the car with kids, literally. My good friend Allison and her two kids came along for the ride.
The parade lasted an hour and 10 minutes!! Lots of horses, tractors and every form of fair queen from every county and event! Ezra really liked the horses, fire trucks and seeing some of his cousins on a float. After seeing so many fair queen floats, he started imitating the fair queen "wave". It was classic!
After the parade, we loaded up the car and headed out to the Wildseed Farm for some lunch and butterflies. Ezra, Harper and Hudson were so funny to watch in the Butterfly House. They were really excited about it until on got close to ezra and one almost landed on Harper's head! But, they quickly got past it, and really enjoyed it!
It all came to an end with peach and vanilla ice cream swirl! Delicious!! Thanks grammy!

We had such a good time. Next year, we will have to go to the actual fair and ride the rides!

So Sweet

Ezra 2, and Emersyn 3 months

So, I was trying to take Emersyn's 3 month picture and Ezra jumps up on the couch right next to her and started saying "cheese". So, I snapped a couple of pics before my camera died. After the "photo shoot" he started hugging her and giving her kisses while she just smiled. I love moments like that. I can't wait till they can actually interact with each other, but then again, I don't want my little girl to grow up too soon!!

My family and I went to the Port Aransas this past weekend. We had such a great time!! We rented a two bedroom beach house that was just a little walk down to the beach. From the balcony you could see the beach. The beach house was in a community of houses that had a community pool. Shelby and I arrived first with all of the kids. We unloaded and immediately headed to the pool. The pool was so warm so we only stayed in the pool for an hour. Ezra and Lincoln loved it, while Emersyn slept in the shade. Mimi arrived next, then Brent and Uncle and Malachi. The next day, Friday, we got everyone ready and packed up to go to the beach. We set up camp and played in the water until nap time, then headed back to the house. After nap time, we headed to the beach again. That evening we made dinner and then headed out to see the "Shark Store" (ezra was talking nonstop about the shark) and had some delicious ice cream. Saturday morning, ezra and brent headed to the beach to setup camp again. They stayed and played. By the time Shelby, Mimi, Emersyn and I made it to the beach (emmy decided to sleep in til 10), Brent and Ezra were ready to go back. So, the girls got to go to the beach and layout! It was great!! By the time we were ready to head back to the house, Malachi and Brent were ready for guy time, so they went to play golf. That afternoon we went to some shops had an early dinner and headed back to the beach that evening to do some boogybording! It was such a great time.
Ezra loved the beach!! I thought he was going to be nervous of the waves and how big the ocean was, but he ran right in with Uncle Malachi and Mimi. He loved it. He even got knocked over by a wave and was taken under for a few seconds and poped right back up and did it again. Needless to say, he had to have his lifejacket on the whole time. He was fearless. He loved playing in the sand too. He was covered in sand most of the trip!
Emersyn did great too. She just hung out in her little sun tent and napped. She is such a sweet, easy going baby!
Malachi, Shelby and Lincoln had a great time too. Lincoln didn't really know what to think of Cousin Ezra who is still learning to share toys, but all in all, i think they had fun together!

At the beginning of August, we have the Lindig Shindig at the Llano river. It was so much fun. We got to spend good quality time with Aunt's/Uncles/Cousins and grandparents. The boys got to go fishing, the girls got to read and the kiddos got to play in the water! The weather was great, the food was wonderful and the family time was such a blessing.
